‘Hope and Community’ Came Together To Deliver Christmas 2020 At Our King Georges Service

ROC

Last year - Winter 2020, despite the hardships of lockdowns and a landscape of uncertainty, there were rays of hope, togetherness and a coming together of different organisations, people and residents to put on an absolutely barnstorming Christmas at King Georges Hostel.

On the big day, volunteers, staff and residents all joined in to eat and be merry, and it certainly made a difference to hear stories and smiles from the residents of King Georges. These three days were surely a testament to human kindness and collaboration.

To honour the effort we put together a video to celebrate the volunteers from Westminster connects and Greenlight who came to decorate the building, and prepare and serve a truly epic Christmas dinner over the course of three days. There was also help from one of King Georges residents Liam Rawlings, who topped off the dinners with his special gravy.

This event would not have been able to happen if it was not for the amazing kindness and generosity of projects like Church Homeless Trust, Greenlight, Love your Neighbour, NAZ, Our Single Homeless Project Fundraising Team, and of course all the wonderful dedication and effort of the King Georges Staff.

If you would like to find out more about some of the sponsors and supporters of this event, I have posted the links below.
